We are affiliated with the only lipoprotein apheresis center directed by a full-time lipidologist between Denver and the West Coast
LDL apheresis is the most effective FDA-approved treatment for (1) very high cholesterol levels, (2) high lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a) (the only FDA-approved treatment for this disorder), and (3) focal sclerosing glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), when these do not respond adequately to standard medical therapy.
Our Professional Healthcare Associates
The Utah Lipid Center has three nurses focused solely on lipoprotein apheresis: Patti Stringham, RN, Toni Gilbert, RN and Allison McMillan, RN.
Additional Lipidology Subspecialty Services
In addition to lipoprotein apheresis, we offer advanced medical treatment for intolerance to statins and other lipid-lowering medications, severe hypercholes-terolemia (including homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia), severe hypertriglyceridemia (including familial chylomicronemia) and severely elevated Lp(a) and MASH, as well as for other rare lipid disorders including sitosterolemia, cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis and lysosomal-acid-lipase deficiency.
The Utah Lipid Center is the only full-service Lipid-Specialty Clinic in Utah
The Utah Lipid Center, in Salt Lake City, accept physician- and self-referred patients from the 7-state Intermountain Region for severe or difficult-to-manage dyslipidemias. We are affiliated with the only LDL apheresis program between Denver and the West Coast operated by a board-certified lipidologist. We do not provide primary or cardiology care, just specialty treatment for dyslipidemias and related disorders, such as type 2 diabetes, obesity. CTX and MASH. We serve patients of all ages and accept Medicare & Medicaid.

History of the Utah Lipid Center
The Intermountain Lipid Center, LLC was founded in November 2011 and began doing business as The Utah Lipid Center.
("Intermountain Lipid Center" is the name by which our center is known among insurers and other 3rd-party payers, while "Utah Lipid Center" is the name by which our center is known among physicians, patients and the public at large.)
In October 2018, the Utah Lipid Center became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and started the non-profit Utah Lipid Center-Research. We gratefully accept charitable donations towards our research goal of finding treatments and cures for life-threatening lipid disorders.
